Invest in Neighborhoods Inc.

Invest in Neighborhoods Inc. is a nonprofit organization created in 1982 to promote and assist the 51 community councils that represent the neighborhoods of Cincinnati, Ohio. Our mission is to assist the councils with financial resources and to promote self-sufficiency and leadership skills of the councils and their residents.

We do this through a variety of programs and activities:

Neighborhood Fund: This perpetual fund generates significant income that is divided among member community councils on an annual basis.
Merit Grant Program and Endowment: This privately funded program annually awards competitive grants for outstanding proposals through a peer review process.
Technical Assistance and Leadership Development: We provide assistance on a daily basis to community councils for their regular operations. We also collaborate with other agencies to assure that a plethora of leadership development opportunities are available to the councils.

For 17 years Invest also managed the Neighborhood Support Program (NSP) for the City. Community Councils receive a set amount of money each year under the program to underwrite their activities. From 2004-2008, Invest also managed a similar program for neighborhood business districts.

Annual Meeting June 11
Invest in Neighborhoods will conduct its annual meeting of members at 7 pm, Thursday June 11 at our offices in the Fire Museum. Refreshments and a social hour will precede, starting at 6 pm. In addition to election to board seats, Invest will announce seven winners of the annual Merit Grants. There also will be a general discussion of the city funding process thru the Neighborhood Support Program.
